Prognostic accuracy in second-line renal cancer therapy
Menée sur 1 021 patients atteints d'un carcinome métastatique à cellules rénales recevant une seconde thérapie ciblée entre 2005 et 2012, cette étude évalue, par rapport au modèle prédictif "MSKCC", la performance d'un modèle mathématique utilisant 5 facteurs (présence d'une anémie, d'une thrombocytose ou d'une neutrophilie, ...) pour prédire la survie globale des patients dès le début du traitement de seconde ligne
In The Lancet Oncology, Jenny Ko and colleagues1 validated the International Metastatic Renal Cell Carcinoma Database Consortium (IMDC) model in patients treated with second-line targeted therapy in a large population-based study. Multicentre data from 1021 patients who had received first-line targeted therapy and progressed were retrospectively analysed. After the introduction of targeted therapy, the IMDC was initially used as a prognostic model for treatment-naive patients with metastatic renal cell carcinoma receiving first-line VEGF-targeted therapy.
