Our governance promotes transparency, scientific rigor, and stakeholder engagement. The Institute's various bodies bring together expertise from the cancer control community to guide our strategy and uphold our core values.
Leadership
Dre Suzette DELALOGE was appointed INCa's President of the Board of Directors by decree of 29 June 2026, effective 1 July 2026. A medical oncologist and researcher specialising in breast cancer and cancer prevention, she previously worked within the Department of Oncology at Gustave Roussy in Villejuif. She also served on the Board of the French Society of Senology and Breast Pathology from 2013 to 2026.
Nicolas SCOTTÉ was appointed INCa's Director General by presidential decree of 3 October 2024. He previously served as Social Protection and Social Accounts Adviser to the French President, after holding similar advisory roles with Prime Ministers Jean Castex, Élisabeth Borne and Gabriel Attal. His background also includes extensive work on disability policy, neurodevelopmental disorders and support for carers.

Board of Administrators
Our Board of Administrators includes representatives of all the stakeholders involved in cancer control: representatives of the core Public Interest Group (GIP) members and eight qualified individuals, a total of 28 directors. State representatives hold the majority (53 per cent) of the votes. The Board decides in particular on the Institute's overall strategy.
Scientific Board
The International Scientific Advisory Board is composed of world-renowned cancer experts appointed by the Ministries for Health and Research. It gives advice and recommendations, and ensures the consistency of the medical and scientific strategy. Its members meet up to twice a year. The INCa's president, the managing director and the head of the Scientific Board are appointed by decree for five-year terms.
General Assembly
Our General Assembly gathers 11 representatives of the Public Interest Group (GIP), 7 of whom are appointed by the French government.
The General Assembly deliberates over such things as amendments to the Institute's constitutional convention and the acceptance or the exclusion of a member.
Ethics Committee
The Ethics Committee is a permanent consultative body whose members are appointed by the Board of Directors. It comprises seven people, including one representative of the Health Democracy Committee (see below). It aims to advise the Board of Directors on all deontology- and ethics-related topics.
Ethics officer
The ethics officer is responsible for ensuring compliance with the obligations to declare and prevent conflicts of interest among executives, management, the collegial bodies of the National Cancer Institute, and experts engaged by the INCa. This role has been assigned to an external individual to maintain its independence.
Health Democracy Committee
The Health Democracy Committee is a permanent consultative body positioned close to the presidency and reporting to the Board of Directors. It aims at fostering the health democracy process through direct dialogue between stakeholders. This committee has regular workshop meetings at the Institute.
Its current president is Jean Feraud.
