RAS mutation analysis is a crucial component of diagnostic testing in assessing the role of anti-EGFR therapy;3 non-invasive approaches to the identification of these mutations are of great interest to physicians in view of the generally poor accessibility of archival tissue, which can be further complicated by the amount of tissue available, the remote storage location of the archival tissue, and storage conditions.
